Education in art is an important tool in building tomorrow's critical thinkers and creative problem solvers. I believe that teaching is a reciprocal process between teacher and student in the classroom. I have just as much to learn from my students as they have to learn from me. Their feedback is important to me so that I can improve future lessons. I tie in formative assessments such as review, discussions, and self-reflections to see what students are connecting to. Self-reflection questions at the end of each lesson help the student see their progress and provide me with insight on what is working within the lesson, and areas in which I can improve. Each lesson is planned with student interest and skill need in mind.
